All of the band members are indigenous Amis people from Taitung. Wushang Bihai and Budala Bihai are brother and sister from Bisilian. Drummer, their cousin, Lincoln, is from Dulan. At a young age, they left homeland with their parents. Attending school and growing up in the city, they are labeled as urban indigenous people. The band’s name, Outlet Drift, stems from their native culture and identity, representing their returning to home with their original music, the sentiments of drifting outside seeking for outlets, as well as their hopes for life on the path of discovery of the authentic self.
