Small Island Big Song jam
Small Island Big Song is a music, film & live project uniting Austronesian artists of the Pacific & Indian Oceans.
Motivated by their concerns for the ocean, a couple, Taiwanese producer BaoBao Chen and Australian music producer/filmmaker Tim Cole, spent three years recording and filming with artists on sixteen island nations, sharing songs from island to island. Outcomes include two award-winning albums, a feature film and a concert.
After their recent performance at National Concert Hall, they’re back again with a four piece ensemble. ‘Small Island Big Song jam’ features Putad, the lead vocalist of Outlet Drift from the Amis heritage, and Sauljaljui from the Paiwan heritage of Taiwan, as well as their Austronesian families Emlyn & Manu from Mauritius.
