Founded by Mrs. Gao Shujuan in 1997, Chu-Yin Culture and Arts Troupe has been a long-term supporter of local arts and culture. For the continuation of the traditional Amis culture in Malan Village, Taitung, the elders in the troupe sing the traditional Amis epic poetry of Malan village while women and youngsters dance and praise their ancestors. The group further incorporated middle-aged indigenous villagers with a collaborative educational program to cultivate talents as well as continually promote the drastically disappearing traditional native culture, presenting the profoundly beautiful cultural qualities of the East Coast Taiwan so the audience can appreciate it. The village elders attribute different songs to all natural things. Singing these songs embodied the ethnic history and value of life. Chu-Yin symbolizes the world that the indigenous people desired to express, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation among various ethnic groups through cultural exchanges of music and dances, hopefully, with the most ancient and innocent performance, their traditional indigenous culture can continue to thrive.
